- Cost- effective.
- No artificial substances are added and hence animals that develop resistance against biological control agents are rare.
Disadvantages of Bio control
- Potential agents are expensive to test for specificity.
- Host specificity testing may take several years to complete because of the need for thoroughness.
- Can sometimes fail in its specificity
- Expensive at the beginning
- May not completely destroy a pest
