The name of a monatomic cation is simply the name of the element followed by the word ion. Thus, Na+ is the sodium ion, Al3+ is the aluminum ion, Ca2+ is the calcium ion, and so forth.
When naming these cations or compounds containing these cations, it is necessary to specify their charge. Cations and anions combine to form ionic compounds. Ionic compounds are named with the cation first and the anion last. The same convention is used when writing their chemical formulas.
In science, a cation is an ion, or charged particle, with a positive charge. In other words, a cation has more protons than electrons. If you come across the word ion in a chemistry or physics class, cation and anion won't be far behind. An ion is a particle that has an electrical charge.
In standard atomic notation, the name of an element is presented in the form of a symbol with certain super- and sub-scripts. A standard atomic notation shows the symbol, atomic number, mass number and charge (in case of an ion) of the element simultaneously.
The term matter refers to anything that occupies space and has weight—in other words, that element the universe is made of. All matter is made up of substances called elements, which have specific chemical and physical properties and cannot be broken down into other substances through ordinary chemical reactions.
An atom is the basic unit of a chemical element. A typical atom consists of three subatomic particles: protons, neutrons, and electrons (as seen in the VIDEO. Other particles exist as well, such as alpha and beta particles (which are discussed below). The Bohr model shows the three basic subatomic particles in a simple manner
A ray of light that is incident on to the surface of a plane-mirror is reflected with the angle of incidence equal to the angle of reflection. Suppose that the ray had continued, through the mirror, in a straight line it would make an angle θ with the surface of the mirror. The total angle between the straight-line path and the reflected ray is twice the angle of incidence. This is called the deviation of the light and measures the angle at which the light has strayed from its initial straight-line path
A ray of light is the path along which the lights travel. Rays are observable. They travel along the straight line in a similar homogeneous medium and are represented by straight lines with arrowheads. The arrowhead indicates the path of light. Consider a plane-mirror and a fixed incident ray of light reflecting from the surface at an angle θ. Before the mirror has rotated, the angle of incidence is θ as is the angle of reflection.
The light traveling in any one direction in a straight line is called a ray of light. A group of light rays given out from a source is called a beam of light.

The principle of reversibility states that light follows the same path if the direction of light is reversed. The refractive index of light when it passes from the first medium to the second medium is the same as the refractive index of light when it goes from second medium to the first medium.
Amylopectin, the counterpart of amylose, is the major component of starch by weight and one of the largest molecules found in nature. It also is composed of linear chains of (1→4) linked α-d-glucopyranosyl units but with a much greater extent of α-(1→6) branching than amylose.
